I'm a research scientist holding a PhD in Image and Video Processing. I come from Somerset in the south west of England. I started learning Thai over 10 years ago for fun. Since then I have visited Thailand several times and made many good friends.
I try to take a scientific approach to learning Thai; I never stop asking "Why?". My main problem is how to learn more advanced Thai, without actually knowing what it is. When I'm not working I like long distance running, playing sports, writing software, listening to music, chatting and going to the cinema.
Many Thai people tell me I should spell my name with äÁéâ· instead of äÁéäµè¤Ùé in order to get a more "natural Thai pronunciation", however, my name is English and should be said with an English pronunciation.
A lot of effort has gone into putting this site together. A project like this is never the work of a single person. I could never have done it without the help and encouragement of friends and many, many others including totally random people I spoke to at bars, bus stations, restaurants and in the street who were patient enough to put up with my annoying questions and tedious note taking.
Being 100% perfect is impossible. I tried my best, all credit for any mistakes is due to me.
